Nut Policy Explanation
Did you know that Chesnut has a new policy this year regarding nuts at school? There is a fairly large group of students in the school who have mild to severe peanut allergy, even some who require Epi-Pens in case of emergency exposure.
This policy is for ALL nuts: peanuts, cashews, almonds, walnuts, etc.
Because of the very serious potential risks, please follow the rules below regarding peanuts and nut products at school. Continue reading to learn specifics of what can be eaten in the cafeteria, in the classroom, and for birthday parties/classroom celebrations.
Meals & Menus
The school breakfast and lunch meals are planned by Dekalb County. Elementary school menus are published every two weeks and are usually available a few days before the start of the menu period.
