The Chesnut Charter Council is comprised of parents and teachers who serve a two year term.
Our Charter grants Chesnut Charter School autonomy from the local school system by allowing for a Charter Council. In order to ensure input from all constituent groups, the Council has six action teams comprised of administrators, teachers and parents which regularly bring recommendations to the Charter Council.
These action teams are responsible for a variety of areas ranging from Curriculum and Instruction, Facilities, and Family Support to Technology thus allowing all stakeholders to participate in the decision making process. At times, the Council may assign issues to Action Teams to discuss and bring recommendations back to the Council.
Chesnut Charter Council meetings are generally held on the 1st Wednesday of each month in the Media Center. Times are published on the school calendar and generally alternate between 7:15 am and 3:30 pm. Please contact the chair prior to the meeting if you wish to be added to the agenda.
